Arab terrorists break into Fogel home on the yishuv of Itamar, near the city of Ariel, and stab parents Udi (36) and Ruth (35), Yoav (10), Elad (4) and Hadas (3 months). HY"D. What was world reaction and what is horribly wrong with their approach?
Jennie Drazin C.J.I 3/21/11 Student Reactions to Murder of Fogel Family (Hashem Yinkakem Damam) Which one is the best reaction? My opinion is mixed. I agree that in Israel it is dangerous. I can understand why people want to leave, because if we stay it can put everyone in so much danger. However, I understand that Israel is our home. We can’t just leave it because we are scared of being killed. If we leave we wouldn’t be showing the world how strong Bnai Yisroel is. 1. I think they claim that we live too close to the Arabs, and we should move to a safer location at a safe distance from the Arabs. They probably feel that by living in Itamar and other places like it we are putting ourselves in danger. They might think that we are doing this to ourselves, and that we need to realize that we need to move. 2. The ‘right wing’ camp (I assume) would say that we need to stay strong. We have to show the world that these terrorist attacks won’t scare us. We have to show that the Jewish people are a strong nation and won’t give up. I bet that they believe if we leave these settlements people will think we are weak. 3. I agree more with the right wing than the leftist, howver I still agree with the left wing. I don’t think we should leave these settlements but I do think we really need to be more careful. We have to take every precaution that we can. CNN’s Report: 4. I am very upset with CNN’s report. The report feels very one-sided. It only shows one side of the story, and feels very anti-Semetic. CNN refers to the tragedy as what the Israelis call a ‘terror attack’ CNN implies that we are just making it bigger than it is and it wasn’t a terrorist attack but a robbery. It was awful and CNN are just passing it off as something typical. 5. Oh my gosh, if WE did this to Arabs the world would blow up. They would automatically turn on Israel and bring back past incidents and use them against us. No matter what happens, Israel gets bad press. 6. To tell you the truth I could see an Israeli doing this. I would think an Israeli would do this because they are angry and upset not because they wanted to kill Arabs. What happened in Itamar would have a completely different motive than if (G-d forbid) an Israeli would do the same thing. I would think the Israeli would do it out of anger and for the right reasons. However, I don’t think a religious Jewish Israeli would do this action. 7. I think that the media is afraid. These Arabs, and Arab countries are really powerful, much more powerful than Israel. I think that the media is afraid the Arabs will turn against them, or have their countries stop importing goods and such to other countries. I think if the tables were turned the media would do the same for Israel. 8. They just go to jail. 9. They get traded for dead Israeli soldiers or simply freed. 10. They suggest that we use the death penalty. 11. They believe it is very effective, morally appropriate and efficient in terms of security. 12. If someones kills a person, then they should be killed. We learned this pasuk from abortion, and it really applies to terrorism. If someone commits a terror attack then they should be killed. 13. Aaron’s children. 14. They take a vote and the majority rules. 15. I think once they are found they should be killed. 16. They killed people it is as simple as that! They have no argument, they cold bloodedly killed a family! They killed people so they should be killed! If they aren’t punished they will keep doing the same think over and over again, 17. I look up to Tamar [Fogel]. She is being so strong throughout this tragedy and I hope I would be able to be that strong if (G-d forbid) that ever happened to my family

IAF Retaliates for Gaza Terror
The Israel Air Force struck several Hamas-linked terrorists and bombed a smuggler tunnel Monday night in Gaza in a joint IDF-ISA (Israel Security Agency/Shin Bet) activity. A direct hit was confirmed, according to the IDF Spokesman's Office. The terrorist tunnel was intended to be used to sneak operatives into Israel to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers. The attacks came in retaliation for the barrage of rocket and mortar attacks fired by Gaza terrorists at southern Israeli communities over the past week. “The IDF will respond with strength and determination to any attempt to terrorize the citizens of Israel,” the IDF Spokesman said. On Sunday evening, a Grad Katyusha missile struck the southern Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon. The missile exploded in a residential neighborhood in the city. Two people suffered shock, and one required hospital care. One day earlier, Hamas terrorists fired a barrage of more than 50 mortars at southern Israel. One shell struck a home. Two people were lightly wounded in the attack. More than 130 mortar shells, Kassam rockets and Grad missiles fired from Gaza have exploded in southern Israeli communities since the beginning of January. Of those, 56 were fired in this week alone.
